Marquis TV Episode 29: Alois Lageder
We’re back, with a chat and a tasting with Clemens Lageder from Alois Lageder Winery in the far North of Italy.
MarquisTV Episode 28: Dominio Dostares Estay
John tries out the 2011 “Estay” from Dominio Dostares.
Bursting with fresh red berry aromas accented by floral and spicy oak notes on the nose. Bright fruit flavors perfectly compliment the crisp acidity and structured tannins. Well-balanced and round, Estay is a fresh, pure expression of the region’s native varietal. Produced from 90-year-old vines cultivated at 810 meters, this wine is aged 6 months in second-use French, American, and Hungarian oak barrels. Serve within a few years of the vintage with a wide variety of simple, everyday cuisine such as tomato-based pastas, grilled white meats, and roasted vegetables.
MarquisTV Episode 25 – Ken Wright & Marquis Wine Cellars
John talks about a project close to his heart – three custom blends from Ken Wright cellars, named after his family and friends.
MarquisTV Episode 23: Tinhorn Creek Tasting with Sandra Oldfield
Sandra Oldfield paid us a visit at Marquis Wine Cellars, so we decided to taste a few of her wines, including the Pinot Noir, Two Bench White and the Oldfield Series Merlot.
MarquisTV Episode 22: Obsidian Ridge
John tries the 2011 Obsidian Ridge Cabernet – A big, bold Cabernet from Sonoma. We actually opened this for a video last week but the file was fried, so we tried it again after three days, and it had opened up magnificently!
