Domaine de la Provenquiere 2012 Sauvignon Blanc, 750ml, $18.17+tax 2013 Merlot, 750ml, $18.17+tax Domaine de la Provenquiere calls its line of varietal wines “Les Fruits Defendus”, the Forbidden Fruit, a moniker that speaks to the pure pleasure derived from drinking these fruit forward, easy going, delicious wines.  You can taste the Languedoc sun in these wines – a Sauvignon Blanc full of tropical aromas and flavours like mango and kiwi, and a Merlot showing dense, ripe plum and liquorice.  These are not wines to think deeply about, just to enjoy with friends while pretending to be lunching amidst the olive groves and fields of jasmine in southern France.
