Staff Pick: 2011 Rockford Riesling

Riesling is arguably the most versatile and delicious white wine being made today. I will get lots of disagreement with this statement so not try some examples and be prepared to have your white wine choices expanded. This 2011 Rockford Riesling shows off exquisite citrus essence aromas and flavours. Brown lime, pink grapefruit, orange blossom and kaffir lime leaf all share the limelight with intriguing bath salts minerality. Experience tells us that this will soften and indeed ripen in the bottle, but I’m going to get as much pleasure as possible enjoying this in its vibrant infancy. A delightful match with seafood. Staff Pick: 2013 Saint Damien Cotes du Rhone Vielles Vignes

A blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Carignan and 5% Mourvèdre. The Grenache vines that are used for this wine are over 50 years of age and have been bio-dyanmically farmed for many years now. Dark in colour, with savoury, spicy flavours. This wine is a must try and can be drank now but it will easily age for the next five years. -Chrystala G, Marquis Wine Cellars Name: Saint Damien Cotes du Rhone Vielles Vignes Producer: Saint-Damien Vintage: 2013 Country: France Region: Côtes du Rhône Appellation: Gigondas View this wine on Marquis-Wines.com here!

Staff Pick: 2013 Thieuley Bordeaux Rose

This Cabernet, Merlot blend is an amazing summer treat. Very dry with strawberry and raspberry notes, I can honestly say this is one of my favorite roses. If you are planning a party this summer, this wine is sure to impress your guest. It is probably best to pick up several bottles in advance! Staff Pick: 2012 Domaine Servin Chablis “Les Clos” Grand Cru

In recent years, price for Burgundy is steadily increasing while quantities have not. Chablis however continues to be a place for value. Of the 7 – Grand Crus in Chablis, “Le Clos” is often described as the most complete Cru and arguably the most famous. This is always my favourite of the Grand Crus for its perfumed aromas and upfront enjoyment. The 2012 vintage is similar to that of 2010 as a classic, concentrated and long lived vintage. This wine will continue to improve over the next 10-14 years. It pairs beautifully with seafood and especially sweet spot prawns. Staff Pick: Paul Bara Champagne Brut 2005

Awesome, full bodied, dry and powerful, it’s floral and zesty on the nose, with ripe lemon, toasty brioche and honeyed nuts on the palate. Fine, elegant mousse and great lingering finish. Beautiful now but try it again in 4 or 5 years. Pair with British-style fish & chips (seriously). -Tasted by Duncan Burnside Region: Champagne, France 750ml Price: $60.78 ($69.90 inc tax) 375ml Price: $32.96 ($37.90 inc tax, bottle pictured)

Staff Pick: 2011 Kingston Family Pinot Noir “Alazan”

This is a very pretty wine, with a lot going on. For me, rose and orange peel are the keys to its immediate appeal on the nose. But there’s plenty of fruit too: ripe, or even preserved cherries come to mind. And, with a little air, earthy (and characteristically Pinot) notes emerge, while the orange peel evolves into a bouquet of sweet spices. Flowers, fruit and spice all carry through the palate, with smooth tannins holding it all together. Does anyone make duck a l’orange anymore?
